Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How would I book you for an occasion?
A: I require a 50% retainer and a signed contract to book an event. The balance is due three months prior to your event. If your event is within three months, the whole amount is due upon booking.
Q: I don't see the song I would like to have at my special occasion. Would you be willing to learn it?
A: I am willing to learn any music which is playable on the harp. My set fee is $25.00 per song which covers the cost of the music (which I will find) and the time spent to learn your song. If music is unavailable, the patron must provide a recording of the song to me (on a cassette tape or cd). The fee will be $50.00 as it takes more time to learn a song by ear/write out the music then to read it from an original score.
Q: Are you willing to accompany a vocalist/instrumentalist who is a good friend of mine on a song for my event?
A: I am willing to accompany a soloist. Please note that if I do not have the song in my repertoire, I must be given an original piece of music (see above question). Also, if the soloist requires additional rehearsal time other then the 5 minutes immediately preceding the prelude for the wedding on the wedding date, the rate is $75 per 45 minutes for rehearsals and will take place in my home.
Q: When would you arrive before my event, and when do you begin charging for your time?
A: I arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the time you want me to begin playing. I consider the time I begin playing as the start time.
